Canaan, N.H. – Russ Baker passed away at his home on Thursday, April 14, 2016, surrounded by his family, after battling cancer. He was 66.

He was born in Long Island, N.Y. on March 27, 1950, the son of Cecil and Doris Baker. He was raised in Baldwin, Md.

He moved his family to New Hampshire (the placed he called “God’s Country”) in 1978 and has resided in Canaan ever since.

Russ was a highly regarded commercial Printer at various local printing companies running large format five and six color presses.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Dodge; daughter, Elizabeth Baker and her partner, John MacDonald of Enfield, N.H.; son, Timothy Baker and his partner, Liz Beliveau and baby, Blake of Canaan, N.H.; sisters, Beverly Baker and her husband, Don Trites of Lincolnville, Maine, Barbara Baker and her spouse, Paula Anania of Strafford, N.H.; and two nieces and two nephews. Russ was predeceased by his brother Roger and mother Doris.

He was most happy while working on or around his home. He enjoyed annual ski trips in the winter and camping trips at the ocean in Maine in the summer with family and friends. At his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral.
