Lyme, N.H. — Joanne Coburn died peacefully at home in Lyme in the company of close family and her oldest friend on Sunday, April 10, 2016, after a long struggle with bone marrow cancer.

Joanne recently retired from the position of business manager at the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine and is the elected Tax Collector of the town of Lyme, an office she has held for 30 years.

Choral singing was central to her life. She sang alto in the Handel Society and Ensemble Zephyrus and was long a performer with Revels North.

She is survived by her husband, Peter Coburn; her daughter, Rebecca Maxfield and son-in-law Todd Maxfield; her step-daughters, Teresa Coburn and Sarah Coburn and son-in-law, Christopher Lee; and her grandchildren, Marcella, Jackson, Vivian, and Celia.
