Vermont History Expo in Tunbridge

About 100 White River Valley residents, including Ingrid Van Steamburg, of Tunbridge, Vt., at right, and Clare Holland, of Sharon, Vt., center, rallied at the bridge in South Royalton, Vt., on June 17, 2016, to protest the proposed NewVista development. Utah developer David Hall has purchased 1,500 acres in the towns of Strafford, Royalton, Tunbridge and Sharon and wants to build a community with 20,000 residents on a 5,000 acre parcel. Sunday, June 5, 2016. Royalton Assistant Fire Chief Randy Caron said the fire started near the connection of the chimney and a stove pipe from a wood cook stove. No one was injured, and the adjoining home of Williams' son Dale Williams was undamaged. Warren Williams said the house was built in 1780.
