Jerry Hood, of East Barre, sets the hook on a perch on Silver Lake in Barnard, Vt. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018. Hood has been laid off from his job as a lumber delivery truck driver for 8 weeks during the slow winter season, and has been spending his free time ice fishing.
