Lebanon
In a statement issued later Saturday morning, police said that they had “received a report of a male subject who had jumped out of a vehicle on Interstate 89 near Exit 17 and was threatening ‘suicide by police,’ ” at some point after Darrell “had punched the windshield of his mother’s car, causing damage, and was possibly armed with a knife.”
Police said they subsequently encountered Darrell walking on Bank Street and refusing to stop or to “show officers his hands.” Eventually, police said, Darrell complied.
Police charged Darrell with resisting arrest or detention and of domestic-related criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.
On Saturday afternoon, a spokeswoman at the Grafton County House of Corrections in Haverhill confirmed that Darrell remained in custody there pending arraignment in Lebanon District Court today.
Bail was set at $1,500, police said.
