Elizabeth (Betty) J. Guay

Lebanon, N.H. — Elizabeth (Betty) J. Guay, 89, passed away peacefully, on Monday, May 21, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at Harvest Hill in Lebanon. She was born on July 26, 1929, in Lebanon, to the late Samuel and Edith (LeMay) Johnson. Betty was raised in West Lebanon, N.H. and graduated from West Lebanon High School, class of 1947. Following graduation, she began a 40-year career working for AT&T as a telephone operator. During her retirement Betty traveled to Europe and Hawaii. Betty was an avid reader and loved flowers and birds. Betty was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Edward (Ted) J. Guay on Feb. 8, 2018. Her sister Rae Jean Bresette also predeceased her.

Betty is survived by her children, Donna Foley and husband James of South Hadley, Mass., Theresa Remick of Walpole, Mass., Edward Guay and wife Robin of Enfield, N.H., Annette Guay of Aberdeen, N.C.; her sister Janice Miles of West Lebanon; grandchildren Kevin Foley and wife Kim of South Hadley, Mass., Matthew Foley and wife Amy of South Hadley, Mass., Jennifer Evers and husband Barry of Hudson, Mass., Katherine Remick of Walpole, Mass., Eric Guay of Enfield, Sarah Guay of Enfield and Amanda Robbins and husband Kevin of Aberdeen, N.C.; also nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Ricker Funeral Home. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon, with burial to follow at the Valley Cemetery in Lebanon.
