Article of note: At Town Meeting, Lyme will vote on a petitioned warrant article that would increase the amounts of income and assets that qualify for the elderly tax exemption.
Contested races: The race for the tax collector position, a three-year term, is contested. Another article on the ballot would discontinue the elected office of tax collector. If approved, whoever wins this yearโs race would serve until March 2023, at which point the Selectboard would appoint a tax collector.
Budgets and spending articles: Voters will be asked to approve a $2,681,543 operating budget. With the votersโ approval, an additional $410,000 would be raised for the capital reserve funds and the expendable trust funds.
When, where and how to vote: The polls will be open on Marchย 8 from 7 a.m.ย to 7 p.m.ย at the Lyme School Community Gymnasium at 35 Union Street. The business meeting will begin at 9 a.m.ย
