St. Louis — David Krejci had two goals and two assists and the Boston Bruins snapped out of a scoring funk to beat the St. Louis Blues 6-5 Friday night and hang onto third place in the Atlantic Division.

Loui Eriksson got his 500th career point with a goal and an assist and Patrice Bergeron scored his 30th this season for the Bruins, who totaled 10 goals while dropping six of their previous seven games. They’re a point ahead of Detroit, which beat Minnesota 3-2, with four games remaining.

Paul Stastny had a goal and an assist and Alexander Steen and David Backes each had two assists for the Blues. St. Louis ended a five-game winning streak, during which it allowed one goal and recorded for consecutive shutouts. The Blues are second overall in the Western Conference with 101 points and have four games to go.

Brian Elliott allowed five goals in two periods and was replaced by Jake Allen to start the third. The Blues cut the deficit to 5-4 before Bergeron’s goal with 3:24 remaining, and Kevin Shattenkirk again cut the gap to one with 20 seconds remaining. Elliott entered with an NHL-leading 1.92 goals-against average and was seeking his 10th consecutive victory.

Krejci’s four-point game was a season best for the Bruins, who have been much better on the road (25-12-3) than at home (16-17-5). He had a pair of three-point efforts in October.

Red Wings 3, Wild 2

Detroit — Riley Sheahan had a goal and an assist to lead Detroit to a win over Minnesota in a game with playoff implications for both teams.

Detroit entered one point behind Boston for third place in the Atlantic Division, while Minnesota came in with a five-point lead on Colorado for the final Western Conference wild-card spot.

Dylan Larkin scored on a power play in the first period and then Tomas Tatar put Detroit up 2-0 2:32 into the second period.

Chicago’s Keith Sits for Six

New York — The NHL has suspended Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith for the final five games of the regular season and the first game of the playoffs for “dangerously and violently” high-sticking Minnesota Wild forward Charlie Coyle.

While on his back on the ice, Keith struck Coyle in the face with his stick, an action Patrick Burke of the NHL’s department of player safety called “an intentional and retaliatory act of violence by a player with a history of using his stick as a weapon” in the video announcing the suspension.

Keith, Chicago’s top defenseman and the reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner as playoff MVP, has been suspended twice before, including a similar incident for a deliberate stick to the face.

Flyers signing Emery for rest of regular season

Flyers Add Goalie

Philadelphia — The Philadelphia Flyers say they’re signing goaltender Ray Emery to a contract for the remainder of the season.

The 33-year-old Emery joined the Flyers on a professional tryout agreement earlier in the week. Because he signed after the trade deadline, he’s not eligible to play in the playoffs.

Philadelphia brought in Emery as insurance because goalie Michal Neuvirth is out with an unspecified lower-body injury. Starter Steve Mason has played seven consecutive games since Neuvirth was injured, and rookie Anthony Stolarz has yet to make his NHL debut.

Emery is a veteran of 287 NHL games and went 10-11-7 with a 3.06 goals-against average and .894 save percentage as the Flyers’ backup last season. He bounced around the minors and Europe this season before being invited to join Philadelphia.
