HAVERHILL — A 52-year-old Groton, Vt., man is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in Haverhill multiple times over the past two years.
Donald Tobin has been indicted on two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, three counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent exposure for the incidents, which allegedly occurred between December 2017 and early March of this year, according to court documents.
Tobin is accused of exposing himself to the girl, who was known to him and under 16 at the time, and of making her touch his genitals, according to the documents.
Vermont State Police began investigating Tobin earlier this year and discovered he had left the state. He was found almost 900 miles away in a home in Havelock, N.C., and taken into custody by officers and sheriff’s deputies in April, according to a news release from the Craven County Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina.
He’s ordered to appear in Grafton Superior Court for an arraignment on Dec. 9.
