Lebanon — A 65-year-old man from White River Junction was struck and seriously injured by a tractor trailer after being knocked into the roadway by a man from South Royalton Tuesday morning.
Roderic Ricker and Jeremy Potwin, 47, were arguing on the side of the Interstate 89 Exit 20 off-ramp about a collision between Ricker’s 2002 Subaru Legacy and Potwin’s 2002 Toyota Camry at about 9:30 a.m., according to a press release from the Vermont State Police.
Police said that, in the course of the argument, Potwin punched Ricker, who fell onto the roadway and was subsequently struck by the tractor trailer. Ricker was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center with injuries that were “serious but not life-threatening,” according to the report.
Late Tuesday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said Ricker was in satisfactory condition.
Police ask those with relevant information to call Trooper Michael Catalfamo at 603-271-3635.
