Newport — A 38-year-old Claremont man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to burglarizing the Marro Home Center on Charlestown Road in November.

Mark Perry took a plea agreement in Sullivan Superior Court and remains held pending a sentencing hearing on the charge.

As part of the deal, Perry has agreed to a capped sentence of five to 10 years in prison. His sentencing hearing is slated for May.

Meanwhile, Perry has two other burglary charges pending in connection with alleged break-ins at Howe Motors and Southwestern Community Services, also on Charlestown Road close to Marro.

He is slated to go to trial on the Howe Motors burglary charge next month. The matters likely will be tried separately.

While in court on Wednesday, his attorney, Bruce Jasper, said Perry will undergo a mental health evaluation between now and his May sentencing hearing.

Perry and Justin Daisy, 25, also of Claremont, were both arrested in November and charged in connection with alleged burglaries at Howe Motors, Marro Home Center and Southwestern Community Services. Daisy also faces a charge related to an alleged incident at T-Bird Mini Mart, Sullivan County Attorney Marc Hathaway said.

He has a plea and sentencing hearing scheduled for Friday in the Newport courthouse.

Perry and Daisy were living at 112 Charlestown Road at the time of the burglaries.
