In reference to taxes, Donald Trump told CBS’ Leslie Stahl, “Obviously, the public didn’t care because I won the election very easily. So they don’t care.” Among many “firsts” this year is the election of a billionaire international developer with multiple foreign holdings, who has never held elected office, and has children who simultaneously run his enterprise and manage his governmental transition team.
There are credible reports of Trump’s indebtedness to foreign banks of both allies and dictatorial adversaries (China, perhaps Russia). It’s been said that Russia and China have both illegally breached U.S. electronic assets, via which Russia recently tainted the American political process. Given human bias and potential for blackmail, future treaties, executive actions and policy might clearly be influenced by debt and business holdings.
President Trump will select and instruct leaders of the Treasury, the IRS and tax courts, even as the IRS investigates his taxes. Trump has insisted he will release his tax reports after “audits are completed.” However, the IRS requires that the president have an annual audit (Internal Revenue Manual 4.8.4.2) so his audit will never be “completed” while in office.
The FBI recently completed an emergency review of 650,000 private emails of Hillary Clinton in a week, due to perceived national security risks. There exists greater national security risk with Trump’s undisclosed holdings, controlled by his children.
Jimmy Carter was pressured by Republicans into putting a peanut farm into a blind trust, which was appropriate. Trump must immediately and completely divest of his business interests. We must insist that the IRS and FBI complete analyses of conflicts prior to Dec. 19 should he not.
We citizen “shareholders” must insist on learning conflicts of interest of their new “CEO” prior to inauguration, and require recusement for potential related policy if he refuses to comply. If egregious conflicts of interest are not remedied prior to inauguration, there is a mechanism designed by the founding fathers for addressing that. It is known as the Electoral College.

I heard Gov-elect Chris Sununu say on NHPR that he wants to cut business taxes because it will attract businesses to our state and he stated that cutting taxes always increases the tax base.
Does he not pay attention to other states and does he think we are stupid? He is feeding us the same old stale baloney that Reagan started slicing 36 years ago! This “trickle down” economics has a long history of failure except for those at the top.
All he needs to do is take a look at Kansas to see how well it has worked for them — a budget crisis. Furthermore, incorporating more tax cuts at the state level will increase the property tax burden on everyone. Please contact Sununu or your representative to let them know we will not accept this well-established failure of a tax policy
