Josephine “Joyce” Coviello

West Lebanon, NH – Josephine “Joyce” Amalia Coviello, age 88, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026.

Joyce was born August 29, 1938, in White Plains, NY, to the late Anthony and Martha Saldicco. Growing up alongside her sister, she cherished a childhood filled with family and friends. After graduating from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, she earned a nursing degree from the Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Poughkeepsie, NY, and began her career as a registered nurse at White Plains Hospital.

In 1963, Joyce met her husband, Carmen Coviello. Married the following year, they shared nearly fifty-nine years of marriage.

The couple lived in Tarrytown before settling in Bedford, NY, to raise their family. An exceptional host who loved cooking, Joyce ensured every holiday was marked by classic Italian meals and home-baked treats. Creative and resourceful, she was a master of needlepoint, an accomplished Master Gardener in the Grantham Garden Club, and even tapped her own backyard trees one year to make maple syrup.

Joyce and Carmen spent most of their retirement years in Grantham, NH, where the Eastman community became a beloved second home. Above all, she remained profoundly devoted to her family throughout her life.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her son-in-law.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, seven grandchildren, and her sister.

The family thanks the staff at Sullivan County Nursing Home and Valley Regional Hospital for their compassionate care.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Claremont, NH, at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 16, 2026. In accordance with Joyce’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours or burial services.
