Claremont’s schools have a permanent business administrator after months of searching.
The district has hired Teresa Taylor, who most recently led the business office at SAU 70 in Hanover — the country’s first interstate district — to run its finances, according to a district announcement.
Taylor previously served as the business administrator at SAU 94 in Winchester and SAU 43 in Newport, and worked in private-sector software development before moving into school finance. At SAU 70, she restructured the business department and steered the district through a clean 2025 federal grant audit.
“I am excited to bring an experienced business administrator to Claremont,” Superintendent Tim Broadrick said in a statement.
Taylor steps into a role that has seen interim leaders come and go since the district’s finances unraveled last year. Mary Henry, the business administrator when the crisis surfaced, was placed on leave and later left; interim administrator Matt Angell has since pared the deficit down toward $1 million.
The district had been looking for a permanent replacement since January.
“Ms. Taylor has worked in municipal and school district financial services since 2010, and she has served as a business administrator since 2021. She has the skills we need to rebuild Claremont’s central office with a focus on staff development and the development of standard operating procedure documents. Our goal isn’t merely to recover from the district’s financial crisis; we are going to build a future-proof system and enable the district to remain stable for years to come.”
The request for Taylor’s salary information was not returned by the deadline. While the job application did not list the salary range, Claremont reported a salary of $125,000 for the position during the 2025/2026 school year.
Taylor could not be reached for comment.
