How Does This Help?
I firmly maintain that the right to freely express one’s thoughts must be supported in a Democracy. All thoughts must be weighed against what we, ourselves believe before we can make decisions that consider the rights of everyone.
But, at a time when our democracy is being systematically destroyed by a President who continues to sow hatred, fear, and suspicion for the sole purpose of feeding his own ego and greed, one has to wonder what particular purpose was served by this essay (Commentary, Thursday, May 21), aside from airing one man’s dissatisfaction with Dartmouth College.
