Alfred J. Michalovic

Lebanon, NH – Alfred “Al” Michalovic.

January 23, 1947 – May 11, 2026

Friend, father, brother, coach, mentor, realtor. If you knew Al, you knew relationships were at the center of his life. He had a way of connecting with people, and many counted him as a friend.

Al lived a purposeful life. He moved to Kennebunk, Maine in the early 70’s and established a leather manufacturing facility and retail store on the bridge in Kennebunkport. It was there that he began his family and made lifelong friendships.

Al met his wife, Dana, in 1984 at Sugarloaf Mountain, where they nurtured interests in skiing and real estate. Daughters Kathryn and Georgia completed the family. Following an intentional move to the Upper Valley in 1992, Al continued to help people navigate important life transitions through his work in real estate. His leadership and commitment to professionalism led him to serve three terms as President of the Upper Valley Board of Realtors and as President of the New HampshireAssociation of Realtors.

Service and building community were central to Al’s life, as was his active participation in fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Volunteer of the Year for Lebanon Recreation was one of his most prized awards. When Lebanon lacked a coach for the Hershey Track program, Al stepped forward. After growing that program, Al threw himself into a decade as an Assistant Football Coach at Lebanon High School and touched the lives of many young men. Al also served on the Lebanon Library Foundation and was actively involved in raising funds for the Kilton Library.

A lifelong interest in the art of leatherwork and good friends sustained Al through 30 years of chronic illness.

Al will be remembered for the relationships he built, the lives he touched, and the unwavering love he gave to those around him. Al is survived by his wife, Dana; his children, Eric, Aaron (and wife Raina), Kathryn (and husband Josh), and Georgia; his mother-in-law, Joanne Ferguson; siblings, Henry, Judy, and Rita; and his cherished grandchildren, Olin, Ozzie, Piper, and Bentley, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a beloved niece.

To find Al’s hands, which were cast by friend and sculptor Lawrence Nowlan, visit the Windsor War Memorial.

A memorial service is planned for June 5 at 11:00 am at the West Lebanon Congregational Church.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Lebanon Library Foundation.
