Canaan, NH – Ashley Anne Dowd passed away unexpectedly on March 10th, 2026.
Ashley attended schools in both W. Lebanon, NH; Dunedin, FL; and Deerfield Beach, FL. Ashley was a very intelligent and smart woman. She was an entrepreneur and she started her own business, Mascoma Lake Cleaning, which she was very proud of.
Ashley also loved spending time with her many friends and her beloved dogs and cats, which she considered part of the family. Ashley loved people, animals, music, hair and makeup, watching movies and reading. Ashley also loved to fish, hike, go 4 wheeling and having fun with her long-term boyfriend of 10 years, Nathaniel McCarthy-Wheeler, who predeceased her in 2023. She loved and missed him with all her heart. Solace can be taken in knowing that they are at peace with each other along with many other beloved relatives and friends that have also passed.
Ashley was the kindest person you would ever meet. She loved helping any person or pet she came into contact with. Even when she couldn’t, she tried her hardest. She was a one-of-a-kind girl, ride or die friend and sweetest, most beautiful and loving daughter anyone could ever ask for. She was a gift from God. Ashley had a light that touched every life she entered. Her bubbly personality, loyalty, sympathy and empathy will be forever loved, missed, and remembered.
Ashley is survived by her brother, Charles W. Dowd, Jr. (CJ); her mother, Michelle Anne Herrick; her father and stepmother, Charles W. Dowd, Sr., and Michelle Tamblyn. Her maternal grandparents, David and Jean Herrick and Dorothy (Herrick) and Roy Aloisio. She is also survived by a plethora of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends that love her and will miss her dearly.
Calling hours and service for Ashley will be held on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, at: Ricker Funeral Home, 56 School Street, Lebanon, NH 03766 from 3:30PM to 5:00PM. With the service from 5:00 t0 5:30PM. All friends and family are welcome to come and say their respects to Ashley. Also, if you would like to say a few words about memories you have of Ashley, you will be welcome to do so with the approval of the family. Following the service, there will be a reception in honor of Ashley at:
Eastman Community Center, 25 Round the Lake, Grantham, NH 03753 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Once more, all family and friends are invited to come and join to honor Ashley Anne Dowd.
