SPRINGFIELD, N.H. โ€” At Saturday’s Town Meeting, voters approved, 74-8, an article seeking $100,000 in bonds and notes for the Townโ€™s Watershed Management Plan for the Kolelemook Lake Watershed.

The Town can anticipate to receive โ€œup to $100,000 in principal forgiveness upon completion under the terms of the (Clean Water State Revolving Funds) and any and all interest on the loan will be paid by the Kolelemook Lake Protective Association, with minimal or no impact on the tax rate,โ€ the article states.

Voters also approved, 53-21, petitioned warrant article to call on legislators to protect taxpayers by requiring the Education Freedom Account program to provide fiscal and educational performance reports comparable to those required of public schools, and by limiting eligibility to families with demonstrated financial need.

Voters approved the proposed operating budget of $1.94 million, up from $1.77 million last year.

At the polls last week, voters elected Erin Meding to a three-year term Selectboard in an uncontested race.

Voters also approved two zoning amendments, one related to accessory dwelling units and another pertaining to short-term rentals.
