Tara Velozo for Hanover School Board
The Hanover School Board needs Tara Velozo. For three years Tara has brought common sense and a critical eye to the Board’s work with a focus on financial issues and ways to improve the budget process. It takes time to understand how our schools are regulated, administered and funded, particularly given the complexities inherent in the Dresden interstate school district. Experience matters and Tara’s got it. Tara’s experience as chair of the Tuition Committee, which considers tuition rates for out-of-district students, provides her with expertise to help the district manage the challenges and uncertainties of open enrollment. As the School Board’s representative to the Hanover Capital Improvement Program Committee and the Hanover Finance Committee, she appreciates the overall burdens on Hanover’s taxpayers and the need to control costs, including soaring health care premiums. Most importantly, Tara values public education. She knows Hanover schools are special. She appreciates the hard work of our teachers, staff and administrators. She cares about our children and will work tirelessly to ensure they get the education they deserve and that Hanover residents expect.
