Keep dogs off Oak Hill
I’ve been a loyal Valley News reader since the last millennium and a subscriber for 15 years. I’m also generally not a complainer. But this cannot stand:
Dogs are unequivocally NOT allowed on the trails at Oak Hill. Anywhere. Not even the golf course. They damage the trail, harass skiers, and “discolor” the snow. The public outreach on this issue has been problematic (signs are nice but only if people read them and decide to care). Can you please not publish happy-go-lucky photos of people doing things that are clearly against the rules and already causing problems?
Dogs are not prohibited on the ungroomed parts of the golf course. But the VN photo clearly describes a skier with their dog on Oak Hill trials. To have the Valley News tacitly endorse dogs on Oak Hill trails is a huge setback to the education and outreach on this issue.
