The Big Green menโ€™s hockey team came away with a pair of victories over the weekend, including one in a shootout.ย 

First, the Big Green hosted Clarkson on Friday and played to a 2-2 tie. Jack Silverberg had a goal and an assist in the matchup, while Hayden Stavroff also found the back of the net. Colin Grable, Nikita Nikora, and CJ Foley added an assist each. 

Despite the game counting as a tie for standings purposes, the squads played a shootout, which the Big Green won on a goal by Nikora.

Dartmouth followed up its shootout win by blanking St. Lawrence 4-0 at home on Saturday. Stavroff scored twice in the matchup, while Hank Cleaves and Cam MacDonald each added a goal of their own. Roan Clarke had 18 saves in the win. 

The Big Green are now 14-4-1 overall and 8-2-1 in conference play. Tenth-ranked Dartmouth will go on the road to battle Cornell on Friday at 7 p.m. and visit Colgate on Saturday for a matchup at 7 p.m.ย 

Big Green goaltenders on Richter Award radar 

Roan Clarke and Emmett Croteau have been added to the Mike Richter Award watch list as potential candidates to be recognized by the Hockey Commissioners Association as the best goalie in Division I menโ€™s hockey. 

Croteau has a .929 save percentage and 1.79 goals against average, while Clarke has a .907 save percentage and 1.91 goals against average. Both goaltenders have seven wins and two losses, while Croteau also has a tie.

Menโ€™s basketball splits latest matchups 

The Big Green came up short in extending their Ivy League unbeaten streak, falling to Penn at Leede Arena on Saturday, 84-74. 

Connor Amundsen was Dartmouthโ€™s leading scorer in the loss with 18 points. Jackson Munro had 15 points while Kareem Thomas added 13 of his own. 

Dartmouth bounced back on Monday after suffering its first conference loss and just barely took down a visiting Princeton squad 71-69. 

Thomas had a big game for his squad, dropping 22 points, which included a late run to tie the game and the game-winner. Jayden Williams and Cam Hiatt were the only other members of the Big Green to score in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively. 

Dartmouth is now 9-8 overall, 3-1 in conference play, and will host Columbia on Saturday at 2 p.m. 

Womenโ€™s swimming and diving picks up two wins 

Dartmouth took down UMass 263-71 and Northeastern 212-124 over the weekend at the Tate Ramsden Invitational in Hanover. 

Of the 18 total events, Dartmouth won 12. Stand-out performances include Izzy Mundee setting a new pool record in the 1,650-meter freestyle (16:33.76) and Carinn Bethea setting two meet records in the 200-meter freestyle (1:48.89) and 500-meter freestyle (4:56.01). 

Additionally, Maggie Lambdin won the one-meter and three-meter dives. 

The Big Green are now 3-5 overall, 1-5 in conference play, and travel to Columbia on Jan. 31 for an 11 a.m. matchup. 

Menโ€™s swimming and diving also victorious at Tate Ramsden Invitational

The Big Green defeated UMass over the weekend, 244-88, dropping just two of the 18 events. 

Highlights include meet records set by Tommy Erwin in the 500-meter freestyle relay (4:28.01), Jacob Turner in the 100-meter butterfly (48.51), and Andrew Chou in the 100-meter backstroke (48.05). 

Dartmouth is now 1-6 overall, 0-6 in conference play, and heads to Columbia on Jan. 31 for a meet at 3 p.m. 

Womenโ€™s squash goes 1-2 in latest matchups

Last Thursday, the Big Green battled Amherst on the road and fell 6-3. Xiang Xiang Liu (3-1), Nathalie Taylor (3-0), and Kriti Muthu (3-0) had wins in the contest. 

Dartmouthโ€™s loss on Thursday was followed by another at home on Saturday against Cornell, 8-1. Liu (3-0) was the lone member of the Big Green to pick up a win. 

The Big Green steadied themselves on Sunday and defeated Columbia at home 5-4. Liu (3-1), Ellie Clifford (3-0), Maya Shroff (3-1), Callie Worth (3-0), and Uma Patnaik (3-1) had the wins in the Dartmouth victory. 

Womenโ€™s squash travels to New York City for the College Squash Association Individual Championships this weekend and is currently 4-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play.ย 

Menโ€™s squash wins two out of three 

Like the women, the men faced off with Amherst on Thursday, but this time the Big Green were victorious, 7-2. Gurshan Jolly (3-0), Wei Yan Tho (3-0), Sam Boulanger (3-2), Brandon Wang (3-0), Callan Venkatesan (3-0), Felix Feldman (3-2), and Rohan Ray (3-0) had the wins. 

The Big Green picked up another win on Saturday at home against Cornell, 7-2. Arihant Kalamangalan Sunil (3-0), Tho (3-2), Boulanger (3-0), Wang (3-0), Venkatesan (3-0), Feldman (3-1), and Warren Klein (3-1) had the wins. 

Dartmouthโ€™s winning was put to a stop on Sunday by visiting Columbia as the Big Green fell 6-3. Boulanger (3-1), Wang (3-0), and Venkatesan (3-0) had wins in the losing effort. 

The Big Green are now 5-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play. They also head to New York City for the College Squash Association Individual Championships this weekend.

Womenโ€™s tennis wins opener 

The Big Green hosted Army on Saturday to start the season and came away victorious, 5-2. 

Sam Grosjean (6-1, 6-1), Alexandra Orlins (6-3, 6-3), Caroline Lemcke (6-1, 6-3), and Michela Moore (6-3, 6-2) won in singles. While Grosjean and Orlins (6-1) and Elise Wong and Brooke Hess (6-2) had wins in doubles. 

The Big Green, now 1-0 overall, will next host Boston College on Friday at 6 p.m. 

Dartmouth skiing in first place at Colby Carnival 

After the first two days of the event, which occurred on Friday and Saturday, the Big Green are in first place with 456. 

Highlights include Oscar Zimmer pacing Dartmouth in the menโ€™s slalom (1:28.31), which was good for second overall, and Carly Elsinger finishing fifth overall in the womenโ€™s slalom (1:32.42). The men and women each won the giant slalom on Saturday.

Days three and four of the carnival, featuring Nordic events, are scheduled for Friday and Saturday. 

Womenโ€™s basketballโ€™s losing streak continues 

The Big Green are now losers of four in a row after dropping their latest games. On Saturday, Dartmouth went on the road and fell to Princeton, 69-41. 

Nina Minicozzi, who had 12 points, and Debra Hill, who had 10 points, were the only Dartmouth players in double figures. 

Saturdayโ€™s road loss was followed by another on Monday against Penn, 67-59. Once again, just two Big Green players scored in double figures, with Alexandra Eldredge dropping 16 points and Zeynep Ozel adding 11 points. 

The Big Green are 9-8 overall and 0-4 in conference play. They will look to turn things around on Saturday at Columbia at 2 p.m. 

Womenโ€™s hockey drops two in a row 

First, the Big Green had to travel to Hamden, Conn., for a battle with No. 6 Quinnipiac on Friday and came away empty in the wins and goals department, falling 4-0. Dartmouth goaltender Michaela Hesovรก had 35 saves in the losing effort.

The Big Green were blanked on the road again on Saturday by No. 9 Princeton, 5-0. Hesovรก had 46 saves in the loss. 

Dartmouth is now 4-15-3 overall and 2-9-3 in conference play. It will aim for wins at home against Clarkson on Friday at 6 p.m. and St. Lawrence on Saturday at 3 p.m.
