WOODSTOCK โ Municipal Manager Eric Duffy is no longer under consideration for the Montpelier city manager job.

Duffy, who has led Woodstock since February 2023, withdrew his candidacy prior to a Monday public hearing in Montpelier, according to a recording of the gathering from ORCA Media, a nonprofit organization that records public meetings in Central Vermont.
The city had selected him as one of three finalists for the job earlier this month.
Duffy is also one of three finalists for the town manager job in Winchester, Mass., according to the Winchester News, a news organization that serves the community that is roughly a half-hour northwest of Boston. Winchester’s Selectboard is scheduled to interview town manager candidates this week, according to the municipal website.
During his time in Woodstock, Duffy has helped the community recover from flooding in July 2023 and overseen infrastructure improvements, including the town’s purchase of a private water system that primarily serves Woodstock Village.
He has also been at the center of some controversy and is currently being sued by former Woodstock Police Chief Joe Swanson after Duffy and the Village Board of Trustees dismissed him.
