Anne Mary (Kimes) Prescott

South Strafford, VT – Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother.

Anne Mary (Kimes) Prescott, of South Strafford, Vermont, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on October 27, 2025 at Gifford Medical Center. Born and raised in Lebanon, New Hampshire, Anne carried with her the small-town warmth and deep family values that shaped her life. Known for her high-spirited personality, boisterous laugh, and boundless generosity, she was the heart of every family gathering and a source of joy, comfort, and strength for all who knew her.

Anne shared a remarkable marriage of over 55 years with her beloved husband, Donald Prescott. Together, they built a life grounded in faith and family, leaving a lasting example of love, devotion, and partnership for their children and grandchildren.

Affectionately known as “Nannie” by her grandchildren, Anne filled her family’s lives with laughter, love, and countless memories. No holiday was complete without her famous chocolate cream pie and no birthday passed without her homemade cakes and joyful celebrations-especially for her grandchildren, whose birthdays she delighted in honoring each year. She never missed a single milestone or event, and her unwavering love and support created a sense of belonging that defined her family.

Nannie’s home was always open, filled with warmth, comfort, and kindness. She was an incredible teacher-sharing her love for baking, sewing, and thrifting-and her lessons extended far beyond the kitchen. She taught her family that no matter what life brings, God and family will always love you unconditionally.

Anne leaves behind her son Danny Prescott and his wife Jane of South Strafford, and children Samantha (Prescott) Kapriyelova, Sophie Prescott, and Simone Prescott; her daughter Donna Prescott Viau of Barre and children Seth Walker and Jamie Walker; her beloved sister Helena Kimes; and many beautiful great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews who will continue to carry her love forward.

She was predeceased by her husband Donald Prescott, granddaughter Jessica Lynn Prescott, parents, Charles Kimes and Hattie Brooks, siblings Lucy Perreault, Phillip Kimes and Louis Kimes.

Anne’s legacy is one of love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, strength, and the light she brought into the lives of those she loved.
