Authorities have released the identity of the woman who was found dead near a tent site in Concord on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Jillian Collins, 37, of Concord, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office and Concord Police Chief Bradley Osgood.
An autopsy determined that Collins died from a gunshot wound and that the manner of her death was a homicide.
On Friday, police responded to a wooded area near Manchester Street, close to the Soucook River and the New Hampshire Liquor Outlet, where Collins’ body was discovered. The site is near the Pembroke town line and appeared to be close to a tent site.
A heavy police presence remained in the area Friday night as investigators processed the scene.
The investigation into Collins’ death remains ongoing, and authorities are still working to determine the sequence of events that led to the shooting.
