Authorities have released the identity of the woman who was found dead near a tent site in Concord on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Jillian Collins, 37, of Concord, according to the New Hampshire Attorney Generalโ€™s Office and Concord Police Chief Bradley Osgood.

An autopsy determined that Collins died from a gunshot wound and that the manner of her death was a homicide.

On Friday, police responded to a wooded area near Manchester Street, close to the Soucook River and the New Hampshire Liquor Outlet, where Collinsโ€™ body was discovered. The site is near the Pembroke town line and appeared to be close to a tent site.

A heavy police presence remained in the area Friday night as investigators processed the scene.

The investigation into Collinsโ€™ death remains ongoing, and authorities are still working to determine the sequence of events that led to the shooting.
