Womenโ€™s soccer accomplishes another historic feat

Just weeks after defeating Harvard on the road for the first time in two decades, the Big Green picked up their first win over Columbia in 11 years with a 1-0 victory Saturday in Hanover. Nadia Young notched the game-winning goal at 69:30, which was assisted by Frankie Valverde.ย 

Dartmouth also picked up a victory on Tuesday against visiting Brandeis, which it routed, 6-0. Stephanie Lathrop scored twice, while Anna Leschly, Valverde, Michal Cagungun, and Lykke Ihrfelt each had one goal in the matchup.ย 

With last weekโ€™s wins, the Big Green moved to 6-2-3 on the season and has not suffered a loss since Sept. 11 against Colgate.

Menโ€™s golf finishes in top 10 at Matthews Auto Invitational

The Big Green finished in eighth place (+14) at the tournament hosted by Binghamton, which took place on Sunday and Monday. Tyler Brand led Dartmouth with a +1, which tied him for 23rd place overall. 

Womenโ€™s golf just misses top-five at Princeton Invitational

Dartmouth took sixth place this past weekend at the Princeton Invitational. Hope Hall was at the top of the leaderboard for the Big Green with a +8, finishing in a tie for 14th place.

Menโ€™s and womenโ€™s cross country put in work at Paul Short Run

The Big Green men finished 23rd, and the women finished 27th at the event hosted by Lehigh on Friday. Connor Foley was the top runner for Dartmouthโ€™s menโ€™s team (24:11.7) and finished 63rd overall. For the women, Esme Daplyn (21:26.4) led the way. 

Field hockey is close, but not close enough 

Over the weekend, the Dartmouth field hockey team dropped two close games, extending its losing streak to seven. 

On Friday, the Big Green hosted Columbia and suffered a 2-1 loss. Zoe Schaffer gave Dartmouth an early 1-0 lead, but things fell apart in the fourth quarter. Columbia scored twice in the final minutes to claim the win. 

Then on Sunday, visiting UMass Lowell was able to take a narrow victory from the Big Green 4-3. Gemma Franco, Olivia Galiotos, and Ruby Walsh scored in the matchup. 

Dartmouth falls to 2-7 with the losses. 

Menโ€™s soccer losing streak extended to three 

Cornell came into town on Saturday and routed the Big Green 6-2. Sam Fenton and Milo Peters each put one in the back of the net for Dartmouth, which were assisted by James Wilson and Vasilis Moiras, respectively. The Big Green are now 1-4-3. 

Womenโ€™s volleyball splits road Ivy League matchupsย 

Dartmouth opened its road trip on Friday with a battle against Columbia, in which the Big Green took a 3-0 (25-12, 26-24, 30-28) victory, marking their first Ivy League win. Unfortunately for the Big Green, they were unable to carry their momentum into Saturdayโ€™s matchup with Cornell and were blanked 3-0 (19-25, 23-25, 14-25). Dartmouth is now 4-9 after this weekendโ€™s split.ย 

Big Green alumni among competitors for the U.S. at World Rowing Championships

Jacob Hudgins ’24 and Billy Bender ’25 were members of the U.S. team at the World Rowing Championships in China, which wrapped up over the last weekend of September. The duo helped their country secure a bronze medal. The U.S. finished tied for fifth in the medal count with two golds and two bronze.
