Vigils for Overdose Awareness Day will take place in Windsor and White River Junction Sunday.

Windsor’s event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Windsor Common on State Street. Participants can share stories of grief, healing and hope during a candlelight vigil . The Windsor Elks will provide refreshments. The rain location is the Windsor Legion, located at 4 Court St. Those who would like to add a photo of a loved one who died due to an overdose to a remembrance banner can email tera.howard@windsorvt.org.

Hartford’s gathering begins at 5:30 p.m. at Lyman Point Park at 167 Maple St. in White River Junction. The annual vigil, now in its tenth year, includes speakers and opportunities to share personal stories about addiction. Narcan will also be available. Those who wish to add a name of a loved one who died from an overdose to be read on a list at the end of the vigil can email overdoseawarenessvt@gmail.com or message facebook.com/hartfordvermontoverdoseawarenessvigil.

Representatives from community organization that assist people and families coping with substance misuse will be there to provide resources will be present at both events.
