Hanover, N.H. —
Norman went to Hawaii in 1963, where he met Jane Houser; she became his wife on April 11, 1964, in Lowell, Mass. They lived in the house he built in Hanover until her death on Feb. 26, 2003.
One of his greatest joys was serving for nearly 60 years as a minister in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He cherished the Bible, and loved teaching others what he believed with all his heart was “The Truth.” He almost single-handedly built the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in White River Junction, Vt. in the early 60’s and then was proud to have a hand in building approximately 75 other kingdom halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses throughout the New England area during his lifetime. His stonework is still in place at the former Kingdom Hall on Route 5 in White river Junction, and at the Kingdom Hall on Daisy Hill Road in Lebanon, N.H.
Norman lived a long, energetic, contented life doing things he enjoyed. He worked as a landscaper, gardener, and a stonemason after graduating from Hanover High School. He was co-captain of the Hanover High School Golf Team in the 1940’s. He liked to ski in his younger years, but he continued to appreciate a good game of golf throughout his life.
Norman is survived by a brother, Maurice; and two sisters, Doris and Betty; as well as many nieces and nephews. Norman had no children of his own, but had a large spiritual family, who loved him as if he was their own grandfather, father, brother, and friend.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 57 Daisy Hill Road, Lebanon on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 2 p.m.
