CHARLESTOWN — Police and emergency crews responded Saturday morning to reports of a body floating in the Connecticut River in Charlestown.
Officials said two hunters found a deceased male in the water and notified authorities around 10 a.m., prompting response from New Hampshire State Police, Marine Patrol, Fish and Game, Charlestown police and fire, and North Walpole Fire.
State police did not publicly identify the victim, pending notification of family. Foul play was not suspected.
The New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s office plans to conduct an autopsy on Monday morning.
