Sunapee, N.H. —
Louise received her BA in math from Wellesley College in 1944. She married her late husband, Warren Howard, in 1945. Louise and Warren raised five children while moving frequently due to Warren’s work, and was a devoted volunteer in schools and community organizations. She served on several boards over the years, including the Worcester Girls Club, Worcester Memorial Hospital, and the Central Massachusetts United Way, and on many reunion committees for her alma mater, Wellesley College.
Louise continued to live in the Sunapee area following Warren’s death in 1991. She enjoyed summers with her extended family at their cottage on Lake Sunapee, which her children continue to use as a family gathering place. She enjoyed playing tennis into her 80’s and was an active participant at the Episcopal Church of St. Andrews.
Louise is survived by her two brothers, Ralph and Edward Goetzenberger; her daughter, Cynthia Harvell; sons, Peter, Stephen, Roger, and Ken, their spouses; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tommy will be missed by all and remembered for her love of her family, her sense of humor, and her frankness when she had something to say.
