RANDOLPH — VeggieVanGo, a Vermont Foodbank program that distributes free fresh fruits and vegetables around the state, has added more stops in the White River Valley this summer as the coronavirus pandemic persists.

Gifford Medical Center in Randolph will host two pick up days in the months of July and August, up from the usual one per month. People will be able to pick up fruits and vegetables at Gifford’s visitors entrance on Thursday of this week and Aug. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and on July 29 and Aug. 25 from 9 to 11 a.m.

In addition, the program will make two stops at the Rochester (Vt.) Elementary School this summer on July 29 and Aug. 25 from 9 to 11 a.m.

VeggieVanGo also makes monthly stops in Springfield, Vt. The July stop will take place on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Riverside Middle School on Fairground Road. Participants are asked to have their trunks open to make it easier for volunteers to distribute the food.
