Corinth, Vt. —
She married her Middlebury College classmate Wm. Bradford Caswell on July 11, 1964 in Springfield. Since the fall of 1986 she lived at the home she and Brad named Roaring Ridges on Pike Hill in Corinth. Previously they lived in North Whitefield, Maine for 15 years, and in Weymouth Landing, Mass. for 2 years. They were married for 54 years.
Ann and Brad raised two daughters, Rebecca (Westy) Copeland who lives in Minneapolis with her husband Jonathan and their son Paris and daughter Mireille; and Robin Marsan who lives in San Diego with her husband Robert, MD, and their daughter Caylee. Still living are Ann’s younger brother Nick Pierce and his two children Zannah and Otto, and her younger sister Marjory and her husband Jim, all of whom were close to Ann and with her often.
Ann was an avid reader and frequenter of local libraries. Her home remains full of the hundreds of books she read and filled with annotations. She loved cats, dogs, horses and animals in general, especially owls. Woodworking was a hobby that left our home with her beautiful cabinets and furniture. Horseback riding was a passion as was skiing, hiking and wilderness camping with her husband. She loved nature. Starting seedlings in late winter and planting a large vegetable garden to feed her family was an annual joy.
She attended numerous Osher Lifelong Learning classes in Hanover and was excited to select a class or two each term. Ann was an intelligent, kindly and thoughtful person who was enjoyed by those who knew her, and immensely loved by her family.
We will all gather the last week of October at Roaring Ridges to celebrate, remember, and honor her life. We were blessed to know her.
