BRADFORD, Vt. — Voters at Town Meeting will rule on requests to spend a little more than $2.4 million on municipal and highway operations, with taxpayers contributing $2.1 million of the total.

While town officials expect to spend slightly less than in the current fiscal year, they estimate needing a little more than an additional $100,000 in property taxes. That’s mostly the result of not using money from the operating surplus to offset the impact, as the town had done the previous four years.

Separate spending requests on the warning include an article seeking permission to spend $35,000 a year over the next five years for a lease-purchase agreement on a tractor to remove snow from sidewalks.

Bradford will elect officials from the floor, including Selectboard members for a three-year term and a two-year term, and a town clerk and a town treasurer for three years each.

Bradford’s Town Meeting and Sewer District Meeting will start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3 in the Bradford Academy Auditorium.
