GRAFTON, NH — John P. Wilson, 88 , of Turnpike Road, died Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill, NH.

He was born in Yonkers, NY on June 25, 1931 the son of John P. and Agnes (Kerr) Wilson. He had lived in Grafton since 1970. John was a self employed electrical engineer and then worked for Thermal Dynamics for 16 years retiring in 1996.

He was a charter member of the Kearsarge Community Presbyterian Church and also a member of SCOTS (Scottish Club of the Twin States). John served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a former selectman in Grafton. A fine craftsman, John designed and built his own home. He also made furniture and was an excellent woodworker.

Members of his family surviving include his wife of 60 years, Jessie Mae (Kennedy) Wilson of Grafton, NH; a son, John P. Wilson III and his wife, Kim of Lebanon, NH; two daughters, Beth Jean Hutchins and her husband, Roger of Piermont, NH and Jessy May LaValley and her husband, Steve of New London, NH; six grandchildren, Adam and his wife, Emelia, Andrew, Abigail and her husband, Scott, John IV, Isabella and William; and three great grandchildren, Madelyn, Agnes and Gretta; nieces and a nephew, Debbie, Robin, Dawn and Richard; and a sister-in-law, Rosalind Lewis. He was predeceased by a great granddaughter, Kria; a brother, James Wilson and a sister, Agnes Gmitter.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kearsarge Community Presbyterian Church, 82 King Hill Road, New London, NH with military honors conducted by the US Army.
