West Lebanon, N.H. —
She attended Derby Academy in Hingham, Mass. and graduated from Walnut Hill, Natick, Mass, in 1947. She then attended Endicott Junior College and Katherine Gibbs in Boston, Mass.
Peggy was the daughter of Kendall D. and Dorothy J. Doble of Cohasset, Mass. She was predeceased by her sister, Jean Sweeney, of Rockport, Mass., and her brother, Kendall D. Doble, Jr. of Hingham, Mass.
Peggy married Jonathan E. Ingersoll, Jr in 1950 and they enjoyed 53 years together before he passed away in 2003. They lived in Concord, N.H. until they relocated to West Lebanon, N.H. in 1968.
She was a member of the Hanover Country Club for more than 40 years sharing her passion for golf with a group of close friends and achieving two hole-in-ones which she claimed happened by accident. Peggy also attended the weekly bridge clubs in Hanover and Lebanon for many years.
Peggy is survived by her two children, Jonathan E. Ingersoll III of Cambridge Springs, Pa. and Barbara J. Ingersoll of Kittery Point, Maine; also her daughter-in-law, Nancy B. Ingersoll; three grandchildren, Tyler Ingersoll, Kennett Square, Pa., Jennifer Johnson, Stafford, Va. and Anne Ingersoll, Cambridge Springs; and three great-grandsons.
Her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on the fourth floor of Dartmouth-Hitchcock for their excellent care and heartfelt compassion during Peggy’s recent stay.
