Tunbridge, Vt — Devyn Joseph Adam Bouchard was born to Jael Ann Kenyon Hook and Robert Paul Bouchard on Sept. 20, 1993.

He attended Sharon and South Royalton school and graduated in 2012 from South Royalton High School. He played varsity soccer all four years and won the coach’s personal award his senior year, as the one player to be most willing to anything the coach asked with a smile and a positive attitude.

Devyn’s 22 years of living came to a tragic end on April 10, 2016 in the wee hours of the morning. He was traveling home alone after dropping off friends who had been out enjoying life.

His hobbies were anything to do with cars which included car rallies, shows and movies. His favorite movies were,”Fast and Furious”, he had all seven of these special movies. He owned one of the hottest cars, seen driven all over New England. Devyn was fearless, if he wanted to do something he did.

His lovely sister came along in May of 1995, Heaven Claire Pauline Bouchard of Hamilton, Mont. They were always thought of to be twins. Devyn’s grandparents, Joanne “Nanny” and Simon Leong along with his great grandmother, Edith “Old Nanny” Whitney are all of Tunbridge, Vt. and his step grandparents, Betty Hook and Joe Compo of Chelsea, Vt. Devyn has many wonderful aunts, Debbie Farmer of Indiana, Jamie Thacker of Alaska, Jill Duggins of East Roxbury, Vt. and dearest cousins, Jade Duggins, Jarek Duggins, Meghan Thacker, Kaitlyn Thacker, Erika Thacker and Megan Clark; a special uncle, Jason Kenyon of Dallas, Texas. He loved spending time with Alexia Russell and Skye Compo his step-father’s niece and nephew.

Devyn lived for some time with uncle, Jason Kenyon and his wife, Karla in Dallas. He recently moved back to Vermont and worked two jobs. He had just gotten a second job and his first apartment in Bethel, Vt. His thoughts were to get money to really trick out his car more and his car shows. He was so independent and wanted to experience life to its fullest in every way.

Devyn was an amazing young man, he was the leader of the pack and brought joy to all that followed him. He was recently voted President of the local chapter of the Car Tuners Vermont chapter. He was preparing his own car with Shawn Hook, his mother’s husband, to have it ready to be shown on the next meet which was, as it happens the day we lost Devyn.

He spent many evenings with his other family, who were as close as blood, Rayanne, Roxanne and Benjamin Vesper. They were all really excited about the car rally. Devyn and Ben had many other friends that hung with them at bonfires and car rallies. Devyn had so many friends that loved and cherished him and his family. One of Devyn’s favorite quotes has always been, “Blood doesn’t mean you are family, you really choose your family by who you spend your time with.” Devyn had a wrapped up tight group of friends, since kindergarten. Many of his friends he has met over the years have been gathered from the many concerts and trips that he took. For all the friends he graduated with and those who went on special trips to Hampton Beach, remember them!

Devyn believed in living every moment to the fullest and wanted to make as many memories as he possibly could.
