Sunapee, N.H. —
Tink graduated from Sunapee High School with the class of 1956. He was a hardworking man employed by RSD Leasing Trucking for almost 20 years. He also worked for Quinn Freightlines, Decato, and United Construction and operated MC Austin Jr., Sons, and Daughter Construction Company. He had a passion for sawmills and enjoyed excavation and dirt work. Tink was a lifetime member of the Newport Moose Lodge #1236. He also belonged to the American Legion and Teamsters Union #30.
Tink was predeceased by his parents, son, Allen Austin, and sister, Iva Newell.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Beverly A. (Chartrand) Austin; son, Shawn Austin and his wife, Vickie of Sunapee; daughter, Becky Eaton and her life partner, Burt Rock of Lempster; as well as her ex-husband of 35 years, Larry Eaton; brother, Richard Austin; sisters, Annie Bundy and Beverly Merry; grandchildren, Amy Austin of Claremont, Robin Simoneau and her husband, Peter of Claremont, Allen Austin, Jr. of Claremont, Joseph Hancock and his wife, Sara of N.C., William Hancock of Lempster, and Kassandra Stackpole of Claremont, Louis Young of Sunapee; 11 great-grandchildren; and the surviving widow of his son, Bertha Austin of Claremont.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the ASPCA.
A celebration of Tink’s life will be held at their house at 329 Nutting Road in Sunapee on Sunday, July 24 (his birthday) at 1 p.m.
Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
