NEWPORT — Voters elected school officials in uncontested races and approved the Newport School District’s proposed budget in ballot voting on Tuesday.
Timothy Beard was elected to a three-year seat on the School Board and Jenna Darling was elected to a one-year term.
In a vote of 182-131, voters approved a budget of $21.4 million. It includes the $333,000 cost of a one-year contract with Newport support staff.
