LEBANON – Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify two suspects in connection with antisemitic graffiti spray-painted at several city locations.
Surveillance photographs released by the Lebanon Police Department show two individuals: one wearing dark clothing and a dark hat with red sneakers, and the other wearing a gray hoodie and dark pants.
The two individuals, who are suspected of spray-painting swastikas and other antisemitic graffiti at multiple locations, appear to be gesturing and smiling in security photographs.
Last week, police located the vandalism at the 10 Water St. parking lot, Logan Field on Water Street, the Glenwood Cemetery / Mount Calvary Cemetery on Dulac Street, Storrs Hill and 39 Hanover St. near the Ledyard Charter School.
Mayor Doug Whittlesey denounced the vandalism and City Manager Andrew Hosmer stated that it does not appear to be an organized effort by a neo-Nazi group, the Valley News reported on Friday.
“The recent incidents of Nazi-themed vandalism in Lebanon, New Hampshire are appalling,” Anti-Defamation League New England Regional Director Samantha Joseph said in a statement to the Valley News. “We are in contact with the Lebanon Police Department, and we appreciate their investigation and swift response.”
The ADL’s Audit of Antisemitic Incidents recorded 143 antisemitic incidents in New Hampshire between 2021 and 2025. Vandalism made up 44% of all antisemitic incidents recorded in New Hampshire over this period, with swastikas appearing in 37% of the cases.
In Vermont, ADL recorded 137 antisemitic incidents between 2021 and 2025, with vandalism making up 33% of these incidents. Swastikas appeared in 53% of Vermont’s vandalism cases.
