CLAREMONT — A fire Wednesday evening destroyed a home in the Pleasant Valley Estates mobile home park, according to a news release from the Claremont Fire Department.

The fire at 4 Madison Place was called in at 7:22 p.m., and firefighters who arrived at 7:30 p.m. found that the fire had “consumed the front half of the home,” the release said.

They knocked down most of the fire from the outside with two hose lines. The blaze was considered under control around 8 p.m., though crews worked on hot spots throughout the night.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported, the release said. The cause is under investigation, but the fire is not considered suspicious. The release said the home and its contents are considered a total loss.
