Canaan, N.H. — Beverly Allis (Eyth) Hennessy passed away peacefully in the Hospice suite at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center on Saturday, June 11, 2016. She was 87.

Born Jan. 25, 1929, in Floral Park, Long Island, N.Y.. she was a daughter of Bertram R. and Irma (Ray) Eyth. She lived in the Homefield section of Yonkers, N.Y. where she attended elementary school, later moving to Hollis, Long Island, N.Y. where she graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. After high school she worked for American Cyanamid Company in New York City as a comptometer operator.

In 1951 she met Lee W. “Wally” Hennessy of Ardsley, N.Y. They were married on Feb. 9, 1952, in Elkton, Md. while Wally was in U.S. Navy Boot Camp at Bainbridge, Md. When first married and her husband was stationed at the U.S. Navy Seabee Base in Port Hueneme, Calif. they lived in Oxnard, Calif. Beverly returned to New York when her husband was stationed overseas during the Korean Conflict. In 1954, they moved to her husband’s hometown of Ardsley, N.Y. where they started raising their family. They lived in Ardsley for the next 25 years moving to Canaan, N.H. in 1979.

She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years on Dec. 7, 2015. Surviving are her four children, Lee Hennessy, Jr. (Carmela) of Danbury, Conn., Bertram Hennessy (Sue Ann) of Etna, N.H., Sandy Kondzielaski (Raymond Atkins) of Beacon, N.Y., John Hennessy (Lorraine) of Canaan; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her sister, Barbra Doughty of Bristol, Tenn.; a special cousin, Jane SoRelle of St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.; a nephew, David Doughty of Bristol, Tenn.; and her beloved cat, “Rufus”.
