Frost Center project update
The Friends of Frost, an advisory committee to the Thetford Town Manager and selectboard, has been working with the Town Manager to produce a plan to restore and repurpose the Timothy Frost Church in Thetford Center to serve as a place for community, support and connection for years to come.
We have launched a new website which tells the story of the historic Timothy Frost building, and includes information about the project’s vision, current status, planning process, frequently asked questions, and opportunities for community involvement. To learn more about this project and to get updates, visit frost-center.org.
The Town has hired Studio Nexus Architects & Planners and a pre-construction manager to conduct engineering studies and develop drawings to restore the historic Frost building and explore its future as a community and social service center. Their focus is to provide answers to the following questions:
· What will it take to preserve the building?
· How might the space best serve the community?
· What will the project cost?
We look forward to discussing the project in a series of 3 public meetings prior to a town vote at the February 27 Town Meeting on whether to approve the Frost Center project and move forward with raising funds. Please join us for these meetings to learn about the plans, ask questions, and share your feedback. We want to hear from you!
