Support Priestley for Vt. Senate
Having known Monique Priestley since our paths first crossed eight years ago when she was a participant in the Leadership Upper Valley program, I can’t think of anyone who is better qualified to represent Orange County in the Vermont Senate. While Monique’s list of leadership positions with local not-for-profits can leave one slightly breathless, simply put, Monique may be the most high-achieving, civic-minded public servant I have ever had the pleasure of knowing in the State of Vermont. Hence her recognition in 2018 as “Citizen Of The Year” by the Cohase County Chamber of Commerce.
Rather than review the many accolades Monique has received, including the State Government’s Top 20 Under 40 citation for her efforts as a Vermont State Representative, instead I will zero in on just one facet of her work in the State Legislature. There, Monique has gained a well-deserved reputation as a national tech policy leader whose extensive background in digital media allows her to offer strong oversight to protect Vermonters’ data privacy and establish guardrails for AI.
As a Baby Boomer, it gives me great comfort to know that a tech-savvy Millennial, who relishes working across the aisle, is representing my interests.
Whether the issue is technology, affordable housing or addressing rural concerns, I will certainly sleep better knowing that we have elected such a high-achieving individual to the State Senate to get things done.
