Harry Davison

Strongsville, OH – Harry W. Davison, age 91, of Strongsville, OH, passed away on October 3, 2026, just 24 days after the passing of his beloved wife of 71 years, Lorraine.

Harry was born on September 1, 1935, in Lebanon, NH. He married, graduated from the University of New Hampshire, and joined the Army. They moved to South Carolina, where he worked for the DuPont Savannah River Plant. In 1963, they moved to the Cleveland, OH area, where he earned degrees in engineering and fluid mechanics at Case Western Reserve University. He spent 34 years as a chemical/nuclear engineer for the NASA Lewis Research Center in Cleveland, OH, retiring in 1997 as the Branch Chief over the Space Station. It was all just rocket science for him. He was a man of many talents and passions: a surveyor, licensed pilot, avid genealogist, and sports fan who loved watching the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians/Guardians, and Cleveland Browns. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of history, math, and science. To say he had an astounding mind would be an understatement. He loved history, keeping detailed spreadsheets, and reading a good murder mystery. Above all, he was dedicated to his family, holding on through a battle with cancer to care for his wife through her battle with Alzheimer’s dementia until her passing. His mind, sharp to the very end, was overshadowed only by his beautiful heart.

He is survived by his children, Colleen Davison (Richard Butler) and Kevin Davison (Frances Jimenez); grandchildren, Christopher (Samantha) and Cody (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Christopher Jr.; and sisters, Roberta Cameron, Amy (Brian) Burnham, and Margaret (Joseph) Willis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; his parents, Harry W. Davison (“Sonny”) and Hazel; his sister, Betty; and his brothers, Bobby, Clifford, and Fred.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the exceptional caregivers at Vitalia Strongsville and Cypress Hospice for their compassionate care during his final chapter. Harry and Lorraine are now reunited, resting together on a heavenly version of their beloved New Hampshire porch.

A private memorial service in NH will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) or the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF).
