Support Monique Priestly for Vt. Senate
I am a retired scientist who grew up in the Upper Valley and have lived in Fairlee for 15 years. I am writing this letter to support Monique Priestly for state senate, representing most of Orange County. I have known Monique for several years, via her leadership roles in supporting various community development projects.
Vermont and Orange counties are facing several crises: lack of affordable housing, health care, education and child care, and an aging population. These are not easy issues to solve and require innovative thinking, community action and smart legislation. Monique is young, energetic, experienced (currently a Vermont Representative) and incredibly tech-savvy, just the type of person we need to inject new blood into our communities.
Although she is a Democrat, her independent, action-oriented approach and willingness to “cross the aisle” have ruffled the feathers of the Vermont Democratic establishment, who supported her primary opponent. She has run a positive campaign, unlike her current opponent, who spreads lies about her wanting to raise taxes on working-class Vermonters.
She has spent most of her adult life supporting the use of technology (not AI data centers) to help bring our rural residents into the future information age, which is absolutely essential to get past our current crises. Please join me by voting for Monique for state senator.
