Springfield, NH – Nancy M. (Cross) Putney, 95, of Georges Mills Road, died Friday, September 11, 2026.
She was born in Sunapee, NH on August 25, 1931 the daughter of Kenneth and Abbie (Merrifield) Cross.
Nancy graduated from Sunapee High School and Keene Teachers College. She was a stay-at-home Mom until her daughter Sandy went to school at which time Nancy taught Home Economics in Sunapee for about 15 years. Then she became the caretaker at Star Lake Farm for many years.
Nancy enjoyed knitting and jigsaw puzzles. She loved spending time with Sandy and was able to enjoy a lobster for her 95th birthday.
Her husband, Arnold M. Putney, died in 2000. She is also predeceased by siblings and in-laws, Carlton (Ann) Cross, Carol (Wayne) Reeves, Barbara (Brian) Akers, John Cross and sister-in-law, Alberta Putney O’Day. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra J. Putney of Danbury, NH; a sister-in-law, Nancy Cross of Sunapee, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held in Eastman Cemetery, Sunapee, NH in the spring.
