SOUTH POMFRET — Artistree Community Arts Center has selected its finance manager to serve as the nonprofit organization’s new executive director.
Robert Kimmerle will begin his new role Thursday, Oct. 1, according to a news release from the South Pomfret-based organization. He will succeed Kathleen Dolan, who has led Artistree since she founded it in 2003 in Woodstock. In 2014, the organization moved to South Pomfret.
“Robert brings a deep understanding of Artistree, a genuine commitment to its mission, and the organizational experience and financial discipline needed to lead the organization into its next chapter,” Dolan said in the release. “Just as importantly, he is an approachable and collaborative leader who has earned the respect and confidence of Artistree’s staff and Board.”
Kimmerle, of Randolph, has worked at Artistree since 2021, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before joining Artistree, he spent more than 20 years working in finance for businesses and nonprofit organizations, according to the release.
He will oversee about 20 employees. The organization hosts classes for children and adults, theater performances and concerts, and art exhibitions, among other activities.
