Unity, NH – Eric J Birkland went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2026. He was born on December 4, 1959 to Carole M and Bjarne J Birkland in New York. Eric worked for over 40 years at New London Hospital.
His favorite thing to do was finding treasures at thrift stores where he had a knack for picking out some of the “better” antiques. He really loved restoring antique lamps.
He loved his family and friends, especially his best friends Frank (Shannon) Ulmer, and enjoyed spending time with them.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Carole Birkland & Bjarne Birkland, his Uncle Gary Birkland and Aunt Lillian Potts.
He is survived by his brother Karl (wife Teri) Birkland of North Carolina, his aunts Jean (husband Joseph) Munyon of New York, Susan (husband Bob) Vreeland of Michigan, Uncle Bob Potts of Indiana, along with several cousins.
His final resting place and graveside service will be at St. John’s Memorial Cemetery, 1704 NY-25A, Syosset, New York on October 17, 2026 at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
