It was a pleasure to read “Old Art Supplies Get a New Life” in the Valley News (Saturday, Aug. 8) about a store in Brooklyn, N.Y. The subhead, “Creative reuse centers aim to keep art supplies out of landfills,” could just as well have referred to our own rePlay Arts in White River Junction.

The nonprofit organization’s mission similarly is “to foster creativity, sustainability and community through reuse and the arts” and “to divert usable materials from the landfill and make them available to the community for art making.” A difference, however, is that our local rePlay Arts does not resell its donations but has the welcome policy of “pay-what-you-can.”
