I write in support of Heather Chase’s bid for a seat in the Vermont Senate. There are many reasons why I’m writing but, before I get there, I want to emphasize that Heather is a down-to-earth, straight-talking woman who has worked her whole life for ALL of us, wherever and whenever she could add value.
Heather has served on several levels of public office in Vermont’s governing bodies, including a leadership position on the Chester Selectboard, current service on the Vermont Economic Progress Council and a stint in the Vermont House.
A registered nurse for more than 40 years, Heather worked with schoolchildren of a broad age range, elders in nursing homes, AIDS sufferers in medical facilities and in mother and baby programs where she founded and ran a comprehensive lactation services program for 30 years.
Heather knows firsthand that we’ve got a growing health care cost crisis in Vermont. There appears to be little interest in Washington in funding real preventative care, which inevitably leads to more expensive medical interventions. Heather’s career taught her how unsustainable that medical care model is and she wants to do whatever is possible from Montpelier to ensure best care for all Vermonters.
I for one have had enough of double-talking, self-aggrandizing politicians with little to no resume in the relevant arenas; I can say from personal experience as a Vermont Rep. from 2018-2019 that we do have some of that type of politician in Montpelier. I’m very happy to report that, not only is Heather NOT that guy, but I believe that Heather is not capable of that sort of disrespect to her constituents.
Heather has spent a lifetime working for others in her medical career and through her political/community service. I want her experience, knowledge and expertise available in the Vermont Senate on so many issues. Please join me in supporting Heather Chase for Vermont Senate!
